The Humane Society of Manatee County is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare and humane treatment of animals in the Manatee County area. With a mission to provide care, shelter, and adoption services for homeless animals, the organization works tirelessly to educate the community about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering. The Humane Society of Manatee County also offers a variety of veterinary services, including vaccines, spaying and neutering, and treatment for heartworm and fleas. Committed to finding loving and permanent homes for animals in need, the society facilitates adoptions and provides ongoing support to ensure the well-being of animals and their new families. Brought my puppy in to get neutered. The staff was very nice however I did run into a few issues. First being that we presented his up to date rabies vaccine at check in like directed and it was taken but the vet however we were charged and our dog was given the rabies vaccine without consent when he wasn’t due for a new one until 9/23/24. Second I called multiple times to check on my dog as well as ask a follow up question as I was given zero instruction on how to care for him after the surgery and I was sent to voicemail 5 times. Our puppy was there for 8 hours and probably just left in a cage the entire time when he could have been home with his family and he has not been able to walk since picking him up from surgery. Mostly really just upset about the rabies vaccine situation!

Great experience Dr Lorraine & Brianna were compassionate, considerate, kind & gentle. They actually took time to listen to my concerns….and far exceeded any expectation I had. The staff at the counter was amazing too, I didn’t get their names. Highly recommended….appointments are weeks out, so plan accordingly. Great service. Great Director, Rick !!!

I volunteered at this site and adopted my kitty via humane society. They are amazing. Please consider supporting this organization and adopting a cat or dog if you can. They have amazing pets ready for adoption. I love them they are my favorite charity. So thankful for all they do.

OMG this adoption center is just disgusting. I was speechless when I entered this place. It is so old, messy, dirty, you name it... It's like walking inside a garbage bin. Smell is unbearable!!! I went to check on cats and saw a couple cats inside a cage in a room smaller than a closet no windows and smelling like death animals. Awful!!!!! I had to leave right away or I would vomiting. Poor cats or any other animals that end up there. They had better to stay in the wild. They should have and deserve a better life. Very Very sad!😥

I went in to schedule an appointment for a check-up for my dog. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They advised that they had no openings at the moment and I could not make any appointment because they are a non-profit organization that depends on the availability of their vets to schedule appointments for clients. So, at the moment, all of the availability was booked until further notice. However, they gave me a list of vets in the area that they recommend. I called the one on top of the list and was able to get in to see that vet the same day.

Nice staff! Love that they put in the energy to each & every pet that comes in here especially the techs! Answered your questions & made me feel comfortable. I had my almost 8 month old puppy neutered. Thank you so much all.

They are amazing. I brought my dog in for her shots. It is well organized. They take you right in for your appointment. This was her first time and she was so excited. The staff was so patient and gentle. Time for the shots they explained to me how to keep her calm and was so amazing she did not even flinch. Thank you to all the staff at Manatee Humane Society.

I have only every used the vet side of the humane society but the staff is friendly, helpful and work efficiently as possible to get your dog through their appointment as quickly as possible. I have brought in several dogs for them to see and the staff was great with all of them.

brought my cat in for a neuter!!! LEFT WITH FLEAS!!! ABSOLUTELY UNSANITARY, ALL ANIMALS SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR FLEAS BEFORE EVEN LET IN, ESPECIALLY FERALS. DONT BRING YOUR CATS HERE.
